Satellite School Strategy operational
09 Sep 2020
The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Eric Molale says the Satellite School Strategy is in existence.
Answering a question in Parliament on September 8, Mr Molale said a satellite school was usually set up in any given locality having taken into consideration the distances children, especially in the lower classes, had to travel to the nearest school.
He indicated that lack of funds had been the major constraint to build more of such schools.
Mr Molale said there were some satellite schools in localities such as Bikwe and Machana in the Southern District and Letoreng in the Central District as well as Eretsha, Mokgacha, Nxaraga and Shaikarawe in the North West District.
Letlhakeng-Lephephe MP, Mr Liakat Kablay had asked the minister there were any considerations of institutionalising satellite schools at pre and primary levels in order to increase education accessibility to children in remote and marginalised areas. ENDS
