Chilume laid to rest

Former Nkange MP, Mr Obed Chilume, was laid to rest in Tutume on Saturday (September 5).
He died on August 31 after a long illness at the age of 87.
Mr Chilume was a teacher and later promoted to be a school head until 1965 when he joined politics. The former Nkange MP was one of the youngest legislators in the inaugural Botswana Parliament of 1965.
He served as assistant minister in the then ministry of local government and lands and later the assistant minister of finance and development planning. He retired in politics in 1999. ends
