Gabz-FM has  come up an initiative called the Gabz -FM Advantage which aims to create employment for the graduate youth.

Speaking during the official launch recently, Gabz-FM station manager Mr Gabriel Rasengwatshe said the initiative was a response to government call for private sector to collaborate with the government on employment creation for youth graduates.

He said the initiative would drive innovation and growth in job creation as well as the business sector with graduates who wanted to succeed in business.

He said the new business model came at a time when the country had been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic hence the response by the station with initiatives and programme that could support communities.

“The objective of the government is to create a competitive environment for the private sector to be a middle player in creating employment for the youth.

It is heartening to see that other organisations are embracing the narrative of employment creation which should be the core business in this trying times,” he said.

He said Gabz-FM had been doing well in improving the lives of Batswana noting that in 2006 they helped modern poet whose poetry was now popular in the United States of America.

Dichaba Molobe of Business Botswana; Policy Advocacy, applauded Gabz-FM management for their efforts in developing the lives of the youth.

He called upon the youth to believe in themselves adding that time was now for young Batswana to be involved in business for a living.

He said it was about time the private sector collaborated with the government on citizen economic empowerment for the purpose of employment creation.

For his part My star founder Mr Keabetswe ‘Master D’ Sesinyi said the creative industry was at a better advantage to create employment and hailed the Gabz-FM Advantage which he said came at right time.

Youth Representative Veronica Modisang said the Gabz-FM Advantage was a patriotic act which would help the youth and grow the business sector.

She called on the business community to invest in the youth and make use of their energetic and innovative ideas. ENDS
