Botswana first woman Professor no more

Professor Serara Selelo-Mogwe, 93, is no more.
Professor Selelo-Mogwe is wife to Mr Archibald Mogwe, long serving former Botswana minister of Foreign Affairs.
Professor Selelo-Mogwe passed on September 02 at Bokamokso Private Hospital.
This was confirmed by her daughter Dr Pearl Kupe who is based in South Africa.
Funeral arrangements are not yet known.
Botswana Nurses Union (BONU) also confirmed her passing on.
She was a founding member of the Nurses Association of Botswana which later transformed into the present BONU.
Born in Bobonong in the Central district, Professor Selelo-Mogwe was Botswana’s first professor and first Motswana Chief Nursing Officer.
She held a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master’s degree and PHD in nursing education.
She also had two Masters Degrees in Education and Arts both attained at Colombia University in 1979.
She is survived by her husband, daughter and a sister. Ends
