Botswana has recorded three more COVID-19 deaths, including that of a three-month-old baby, bringing the total to six.
Deputy coordinator of Presidential COVID-19 task team, Professor Mosepele Mosepele said Wednesday that the baby was initially hospitalised due to pulmonary tuberculosis, but as the condition became intense, further tests revealed that it had contracted the corona virus.
The other victims, females aged between 40 and 50, were also admitted with underlying conditions and later tested positive to the virus.
He said currently, Botswana had recorded 1 633 cases including 71 reported recently.
Out of the 648 Batswana who tested positive, 418 were active while 224 had recovered.
Meanwhile, Professor Mosepele revealed that there was also a possibility of re-infection.
He therefore urged people to continue exercising caution and take all precautionary measures. Ends
