The four COVID-19 positive cases that were reported in Maun have all been declared recovered and discharged. Ngami Regional Health Management Team (RHMT) Head, Dr Malebogo Kebabonye revealed this on August 26 when briefing the ongoing Maun Administration Authority Council session.
She said three of the cases were transferred from Chobe, while one was an employee of Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital, who had travelled to Gaborone.
They were all held at Matshwane Clinic Isolation Centre in Maun.
Dr Kebabonye said contact tracing of the Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital driver’s close contacts, which involved 27 people, including a minor, was completed and all the contacts tested negative.
She said 339 tests had so far been done by the North West region, with only two positive cases registered, while 123 people had so far been quarantined.
She said the district had also experienced a suspected case of a truck driver, who was on transit in June, adding that the Ngami RHMT was doing all to prepare for any scenario.
Dr Kebabonye also revealed that COVID-19 tests will be conducted in Maun soon. ends
