Football elders, Kanye Masters Social Club recently took their six-year relationship with Kuto Primary School to another level with a donation of cleaning materials, equipment and face masks.

Handing over P4 300 worth of donation, team manager Mr Michael Kewagamang said their aim was to help the school scale up efforts to keep the coronavirus at bay through hygiene.

He explained that personal hygiene was the crucial , first line of defence against the coronavirus. 

He said they raised the donation through contributions from individual club members and sponsors.

Receiving the donation school head, Ms Betty Matshidiso said they come a long way with the club.

She shared that the club in the past donated computers, school uniform for needy pupils, soccer and netball kits, photocopier, sanitary pads, prizes for outstanding pupils and sponsored an oral screening exercise for all standard one pupils and teachers by main sponsor Dr Topo Kewagamang.

Ms Matshidiso said the relationship inspired them to do more. She said they had thus set their sights higher than the 64 per cent they scored in the last Primary School Leaving Examinations.

She said the support also moved talented athletes especially those not so gifted in academics to work hard, push boundaries hoping to live off talent someday. 

She said the school was generally regarded as a sports academy around Kanye due to the support they enjoyed from the club.  ends
