No funds for road construction

Parliament has learnt that the Ministry of Transport and Communications does not have funds for construction of Thamaga-Molepolole road.
However, Minister Thulagano Segokgo stated that the road had been included in the 2020/2021 financial year recurrent budget for maintenance purposes saying the ministry was in the process of procuring a contractor for carrying out maintenance works.
In the mean time, Mr Segokgo said the ministry was carrying out pothole patching to ensure that the road was in a better condition.
He was answering a question asked by Thamaga-Kumakwane MP, Mr Palelo Motaosane, who had asked the minister to update Parliament on the status of the Thamaga-Molepolole road also known as A11.
He also wanted to know what was being done about the road situation.ENDS
