Mpuse SADC 2020 Photographer of the Year

Department of Information Services (DIS) award winning photographer, Godfrey Mpuse has done it again.
This time around he won the coveted SADC 2020 Photographer of the Year award.
The talented Mpuse, affectionately known as Goddy to his colleagues, has previously swept numerous sport awards domestically.
He was announced by the SADC Secretariat in Gaborone as one of the winners of the 2020 SADC Media Awards, following the meeting of the Regional Adjudication Committee held from June 23-24.
He submitted a photo entry that highlighted Botswana’s support to Mozambique following the occurrence of Cyclone Itai.
His award attracted prize money of more than P25 000.
In an interview with BOPA, Mpuse said this was by far, his best and huge award.
During his tertiary days in South Africa at the Durban University of Technology, he won the South Africa Arts Council Photography for Human Development award and this set in motion a period of winning awards after his graduation.
He has previously won six Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) Photographer of the Year awards, won twice Best Photographer for the Coca Cola Cup and four times Botswana Volleyball Federation (BVF) annual awards’ Best Photographer, all under the department he still works for. ENDS
