Police still on hunt for missing teenager

Jwaneng police are appealing to members of the public to assist with the whereabouts of a teenage girl, who went missing over a month ago.
In an interview recently, Jwaneng police station commander, Superintendent Thuso Basuti indicated that the girl went missing on July 5, and that, so far, all efforts to locate her had not borne fruit.
“The report indicates that on that fateful day, the girl was in the company of her friend around noon, and according to the friend, as they were walking, a man who seemed to be familiar with the missing girl appeared and they took a walk together.
The friend reported that after a while, the missing girl indicated to her that she will come home alone later, and so she left her with the man,” he said.
Supt. Basuti said the girl never returned as promised, adding that unfortunately, the friend indicated that she could not recall the appearance of the said man.
He said the 15-year-old Maatla Mighty Motseoile was not schooling at the moment.
He said the family originated from Kabue ward in Ntlhantlhe, where relatives indicated they had not seen the girl.
“We are therefore appealing to members of the public to assist us in the hunt.
So far, we have liaised with our public relations unit to publicise in all our police media, and so far, our Facebook page has been running her face,” he said.
Supt. Basuti said the missing girl’s parents had indicated that they did not know of any existing boyfriend, where the teenager could be, and that her friends had not indicated anything positive on social media appeals.
“Unfortunately, her parents also indicated that she did not have any Facebook account where we could otherwise monitor any activity,” he said. ENDS
