Otjiserandu organisation on August 7 donated 20 food hampers worth P4 200 to Maun Administration Authority to assist those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic era.

The organisation’s chairperson, Mr Justice Muinjo said healthy eating was important especially now during the pandemic era adding that the donation would help in that regard.

Mr Muinjo said they used their own funds to buy food. 

“Our intention is to see everyone living a happy life. 

We should therefore, share the little that we have with those in need,” said Mr Muinjo.

He said government wished to see Batswana supporting each other adding that the organisation was merely fulfilling that wish. 

North West District deputy commissioner, Ms Goitseon Nkwe-Tabane said the donation would be appreciated by those who would be assisted especially that some were left jobless by the pandemic. 

“I applaud Otjiserandu for the good job they have done, it really shows love and care for others,” she said. Otjiserandu organisation was formed in 1923 to promote unity among Baherero as well as promote cultural activities. ends
