The late Thabo Baitseng, district officer administration in Boteti Sub-district until his untimely death on August 2, was a good leader who played a critical role in developing his area of operation, Boteti deputy district commissioner said.

Mr Ewetse Selelo, who was speaking during Baitseng’s memorial service in Letlhakane on August 6, described him as an asset who gave himself to the economic development of Boteti Sub-district and a team player with a mature approach to work.

Baitseng, a free spirited individual according to the sub-district senior assistant council secretary, Mr Milton Keitshokile, easily established good working relations with organisations and individual customers alike.

A dedicated officer in the words of Boteti Business Community chairperson, Mr Tshekatsheko Setlhomo, Baitseng’s invaluable contribution and commitment to the region was remarkable.

“He played a crucial role in facilitating and coordinating various significant sub-district socio-economic development projects such as the livestock abattoir development and sports complex among others,” stated Mr Setlhomo adding, ‘he had a willingness to serve the community, commitment and dedication to his duty, humility, obedience and unquestionable integrity as required of his job’.

Mr Setlhomo remembered Baitseng as a soft-spoken person who was approachable, and a true production catalyst whose spirit would remain an inspiration to others.

Central district commissioner, Mr Rapetse Mathumo said Baitseng made a mark and left memories for those that he lived with.

His death, he indicated had shaken all the district commissioner offices across the country.

Baitseng’s colleague, Mr Oabona Ngalang described him as having been a pillar in the district commissioner’s officer, a born a leader and jolly person who related with all.

He was laid to rest in Molepolole on August 8. Ends
