Drought assessment complete
06 Aug 2020
The assessment for drought and food security is complete and awaits to be tabled before Rural Development Council (RDC) in the near future.
This was said by Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security, Dr Edwin Dikoloti when responding to a parliamentary question on Wednesday.
He said that the drought mitigation measures were determined by the drought and household food security vulnerability assessment.
“The process for the completion of this exercise is such that the RDC will then present the assessment to the cabinet, which will ultimately guide on whether farmers will be assisted or not,” he said.
Dr Dikoloti was answering a question from Tati West, Mr Simon Moabi, who had asked if government would assist farmers from areas that were affected by drought, if so, how and when. BOPA
