Police in Maun are investigating a road accident, which claimed the life of a 29-year-old woman along Maun-Francistown road on August 1.

Maun Police station Commander Superintendent Chenamo Orateng stated in an interview that the accident occurred at around 6pm.

Supt Orateng said it was suspected that a BMW model vehicle was overtaking a Corolla model vehicle and the Corolla vehicle was also overtaking another vehicle which resulted in the BWM vehicle hitting the Corolla from behind, then the Corolla vehicle overturned. 

He said the woman, who was a resident of Boseja ward in Maun, was certified dead at Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital and the Corolla driver together with the other passenger had been transferred to Nyangabwe Referral Hospital in Francistown while the BMW vehicle driver was treated and discharged. Ends
