Mmathethe/Molapowabojang MP, Dr Edwin Dikoloti, has hailed Botswana Corolla Crew for showing a spirit of benevolence.
He was speaking during an event where Botswana Corolla Crew donated food hampers to former national football team player, Mr Mosimanegape ‘Twizer’ Ramohibidu in Lorwana on Saturday.
He said God would always reward those who give to others.
Therefore, he called on citizens to partake in charitable activities for a better Botswana.
Dr Dikoloti, who is also the Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security, said giving to a good course made a philanthropist to have a feeling of social conscience as well as creating a platform for a moral duty to use what they had to help others.
He said good deeds made a positive impact and made the benefactor feel great at the same time.
Dr Dikoloti said children and people in need were many, but they would not ask for help, hence being grateful if somebody paid attention to their problems.
He opined that generosity would make the country more successful, adding that Mr Ramohibidu was harvesting from a good seed he had planted.
He thanked Botswana Corolla Crew to avail time to check-on one of his constituents.
The wheelchair-bound Mr Ramohibidu was involved in a near fatal road accident in 2015.
He expressed gratitude to the noble gesture noting that he felt blessed to have received the donation.
Mr Ramohibidu thanked the crew for remembering him while he was still alive.
For his part, events manager of the crew, Mr Thapelo Maboane, said their mandate was to help those in need since government would not make it alone.
He said responding to the health needs of Batswana and the less-fortunate was of paramount importance because it ensured that their physical and mental well-being was taken care of.
Mr Maboane said Mr Ramohibidu was blessed with great footballer skills and the crew was indebted to honour him.
‘Twizer was a utility left back that formed part of a national squad that led to Botswana’s maiden appearance at the continental showpiece co-hosted by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon in 2012. ENDS
