Inalebe donates face shields to Pudulogong

22 Jul 2020

Ina Lebe organisation has donated over 600 face shields to Pudulogong Rehabilitation and Development Trust for the Blind and Botswana Society for the Deaf.

Speaking at the handover ceremony recently, Ina Lebe manager, Mr Ookeditse Moreri said of the 600 face shields, Pudulogong Rehabilitation and Development Trust for the Blind received 450 while Botswana Society for the Deaf got 150.

Mr Moreri said both the non-profit making organisations deserved assistance, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic to prevent beneficiaries from contracting coronavirus.

Receiving the face shields, Ms Orapeleng Mokgosi of Botswana Society for the Deaf lauded Ina Lebe for the donation, saying it was timely, given that they had been working hard to get all necessary material to protect their members from COVID-19.

Ms Mokgosi indicated that using masks that covered both the mouth and nose minimised communication between the sign language interpreter and those with hearing impairment because they could not read the lips.

Pudulogong training coordinator, Mr Obakeng Busang also applauded Ina Lebe for their gesture as well as the quality of their products.

He therefore urged Batswana to support the company.

On the other hand, sign language interpreter, Ms Keoleboge Khumoetsile also applauded the company for its support and commitment to the community.

Meanwhile, Ms Khumoetsile encouraged the public to learn sign language in order to ease communication with those with hearing impairment. ENDS
