Ministry to recruit new director
16 Jul 2020
The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development is in the process of floating an advert to recruit a substantive director for the Department of Tribal Administration.
Assistant minister, Mr Kgotla Autlwetse told Ntlo ya Dikgosi on July 14 that the tribal administration department had an acting director until May this year.
He explained that while the ministry was looking into appointing the acting director, the officer was then transferred on promotion to another ministry.
Mr Autlwetse also told Ntlo ya Dikgosi that the ministry had a clear progression path for the tribal administration staff.
He said the Competency Based Career Path (CBCP), which showed a clear progression structure, was implemented in March last year.
Meanwhile, Mr Autlwetse said the ministry had replaced six vehicles from the 14 of the different tribal administration offices in the North West District, which were boarded in 2017/2018.
He said three more vehicles would be replaced during the current financial year, while the remaining would be replaced as and when funds permitted.
The assistant Minister was answering questions from Kgosi Kealetile Moremi of Goo-Tawana and Kgosi Sibangani Mosojane of North East Region.
Kgosi Moremi had wanted to know when 14 vehicles of different tribal administration offices in the North West District that were boarded in 2017/2018 would be replaced.
On the other hand, Kgosi Mosojane wanted to know when a substantive director for the department would be appointed, arguing that delay impeded development progress.
Kgosi Mosojane also wanted to know when a clear progression path for the tribal administration staff would be set. ENDS
