Tsabong Motors has been commended for donating 106 branded masks to Tsabong Primary School standard one pupils with each mask bearing the name of the child for easy identification.
The gesture was hailed by the school head, Mr Archie Seane on July 8, saying it would go a long way in ensuring uniformity, which was critical in a learning environment.
He commended Tsabong Motors for lending a helping hand in the fight against COVID-19, adding that involvement of all stakeholders to assist pupils to comply with COVID-19 health protocols was critical as some came from families, which could not afford a mask.
“Uniformity is critical to the wellbeing of a child in school and lack of it may cause some to have low self-esteem and affect learning,” he said.
Mr Seane said various organisations continued to demonstrate they were involved in the battle against COVID-19 by ensuring that pupils were safe through donations.
Tsabong Motors’ Ms Michelle Aswat said the company learnt about the need for masks from one of its employees, who has a child at the school and had seen some using head scarves instead of masks.
She said the company then decided to assist standard one pupils. Ms Aswat said the company spent P3 000 on the masks and planned to assist other schools in Kgalagadi.
She highlighted that the coronavirus, which had affected the world, was invisible and deadly, thus it was critical to observe all health protocols and assist those in need, especially children, to comply. Ends
