The Indian High Commission in Botswana, under the aegis of Vande Bharat Mission (VBM) and the Indian Association of Botswana, has chartered a flight to repatriate 116 people back to their country.
A press release from the high commission says the 116 Indian nationals, including two infants and others who were either business persons or visiting their families, returned home on Thursday.
The release states that they were stranded in Botswana after scheduled international commercial flights stopped operating owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It also states that a number of engineers and technicians who had completed their projects in Botswana also returned to India.
The high commission thanked Botswana for making repatriation efforts successful. Ends
