Mmabontle Circle donates to community based organisations

Mmabontle Circle, an NGO founded by former beauty queen, Ms Tirelo Ramasedi, has donated protective and preventative material to Pabalelong Hospice, The Clicking Generation and Cheshire Foundation.
The donations, which were gifts from different organisations, included 860 surgical face masks, 50 litres of hand gel sanitisers, 50 litres of liquid hand disinfectant, 50 litres of blue disinfectant, 50 litres of dish washing liquid, 50 litres of all handy liquid, 10 500ml spray bottles with hand sanitisers, 10 hand sanitiser stands, 10 jumbo roll stands and 10 jumbo rolls.
Speaking at the handing over of the donations, July 10, Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Mr Tumiso Rakgare thanked China Ambassador, Dr Zhao Yanbo, Kairos Industrial Chemicals and Huawei Beijing office Public Affairs and Communications director, Ms Jessie Pan, for the gifts.
Minister Rakgare also applauded Mmabontle Circle for bringing together different stakeholders to make a positive impact in the lives of Batswana.
He said he believed that the opportunity presented through the Mmabontle Circle would be a pedestal to creating greater positive change not only in Botswana but globally.
Minister Rakgare noted that COVID-19 had affected everyone negatively, adding that it was commendable that some were still able to assist during difficult times.
“I trust that this is the first of many interactions of all represented here and look forward to fruitful engagements in future,” said Mr Rakgare.
Ms Ramasedi highlighted that the donation was aimed at contributing to the fight against the spread of COVID-19, through the power of partnership, knowledge dissemination and volunteerism as well as to foster healthier communities.
Ms Ramasedi explained that the donation drive was initiated by one of Mmabontle circle mentee, Ms Olorato Mathodi.ends
