TASC netball team on winning spree

15 Sep 2013

Unbeaten TASC netball team continued with their winning spree this weekend at the second round of My Spar My Botswana Northern Zone netball league games in Francistown on September 14.

Positioning themselves for a successful second round, the Tango girls finished the first round of the league on a clean slate without loss or even a draw.

At the weekend games, the formidable side, which were crowned runners up to their counterparts BDF Cats of Gaborone on top 8 last year, scored a total of 159 goals in the two games they played against Orapa Wanderers and Sowa Flamingos.

In the first game, they beat Orapa with a total score of 83-15, winning the first quarter by a margin of 20-3 and doubling up the second quarter with a score of 42-6.

As if it was not enough, they took to their second game with a determination to stretch their lead of the second round, which will take them to the coming top 8 games slated for November where they are going to meet with winners from the Southern zone.

The side did not look back as they took to the courts to take another swipe at Sowa Flamingos.

Despite winning their first game beating Dukwi 33-17, Sowa looked like they have already counted their loss before the start of the game against TASC.

With such low morale before the game, the confident TASC exploited them and demolished them 76-9 to wrap the day’s games. Meanwhile the young side Dukwi who are at the bottom of the log were unlucky in their last game, which they missed by an inch to play to a draw as they lost 26-27 to Orapa. Ends
