07 Jul 2020
The envisaged Tshele Hill fuel depot is expected to have a capacity of 160 million litres of petrol, diesel and paraffin. Construction of the access road and rail spur has been completed.
Currently, government has two storage facilities in Gaborone and Francistown with limited capacity of 20 and 35 million litres respectively. Botswana Oil chief operations officer, Mr Mosetlho Kenamile said 55 million litres would last up to 30 weeks if the situation was dire.
The Tshele fuel storage facility is expected to augment existing government storage.
