Ban on tobacco use lifted

Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Ms Peggy Serame says ban on the use of tobacco has been lifted as of today (June 26). She said this however, comes with some conditions such as prohibitions of smoking in public places like churches and schools.
She also said restaurants would be required to set up smoking areas for their patrons. Ms Serame further said the use of smoking equipment such as shisha would still be prohibited as they were often shared. Minister Serame said more details would be shared in a press conference set for this Sunday at 3pm. Ends
