Company makes up for lost time

23 Jun 2020

Triple F, engaged in the construction of the P5 million Molalatau clinic, has vowed to do all in its power to recoup the two months lost due to COVID-19 lockdown.

Project manager Mr Nshaganyi Damba said in an interview that despite being two months behind schedule, the company’s intention of delivering the project in six months lived on.

He said Triple F might require an additional month to put to bed the World Group of Companies funded project.

Construction of the state-of-the-art facility started in March and was expected to be completed in August but owing to the national lockdown that commenced on April 2, the company was forced to halt operations until the end of the extreme social distancing period last month.

Mr Damba said the company was working on weekends to make up for lost time.

“We will not use lockdown as an excuse for delayed delivery of the project,” said Mr Damba adding that he expected his team to push even harder to complete the project that comprised a hospital side, maternity wing and sterilization wing among others.

The clinic, which sits on a 1 920m2 plot, just east of the village health post, is reportedly at 50 per cent completion stage.

Mr Damba said he was impressed with progress made adding that with the available material and personnel, a lengthy extension might not be required.

On other issues, the project manager said the 28 Triple F employees, three from a sub electrical company and 15 bricklayers engaged in the project were currently observing COVID-19 protocols without fail.

Every one of the employees understood the importance of wearing a facemask, frequent washing of hands with water and soap as well as social distancing, he said further explaining that workers were constantly advised against sharing equipment and utensils.

Adherence to protocols was preached to workers every morning before they got into their work routine, said Mr Damba.ends
