Land board gives Mojadife primary sanitisers

21 Jun 2020

Malete Land Board on June 19 donated 68 hand sanitisers to Mojadife Primary School.

Handing over the donation, land board secretary, Ms Roseline Kedimotse said the sanitisers would be used by learners during school time.

Ms Kedimotse said frequent hand washing and sanitising were core in preventing transmission of the coronavirus.

Therefore, she said there was need for the community to support each other by adhering to health protocols put in place to fight against the spread of the virus.

The land board chairperson, Mr Roy Letsatsi indicated that the low water pressure at Mojadife Primary School which is in the outskirts of Mogobane, was a challenge, hence the donation was worthwhile.

Mr Letsatsi said the donation was made possible through selfless efforts of Malete Land Board employees who contributed towards the gesture.

On the other hand, Kgosi Nobi Moilwa of Mogobane said there was need for mindset change towards COVID-19, adding Batswana should therefore be encouraged to embrace changes that came about as a result of the pandemic.

Kgosi Moilwa also opined that it would be possible to win war against the COVID-19 pandemic if the community heeded advice by health professionals and observed safety protocols.

He expressed concern about some people who had not embraced the use of face masks, adding failure to use them put their lives and those of others at risk.

Deputy school head, Ms Boitumelo Lemao was happy to receive sanitisers, saying they did not have them and their availability at the school would assist both teachers and learners to keep their hands clean at all times and in turn curb the virus.

Ms Lemao reiterated that water pressure at the school was low, noting however that the South East South Sub-district had placed water tanks in schools.

Mojadife Primary School has 11 classes for use by 263 learners from standard one to seven. ENDS
