The deceased were fishing at the dam on June 13 when their boat capsized
Selebi Phikwe Police Station Commander Superintendent Meshack Pulenyane told BOPA that the duo accessed the dam illegally on the side of Nkwanapedi cattlepost.
He urged the community to always seek permission from the relevant authorities whenever they wanted to access the dam because doing so would help in case of an accident.
Names of the deceased have been withheld until their next of kin have been notified.
Superintendent Pulenyane thanked the search team for defying the chilly weather to look for the men.
The Botswana Defence Force, Water Utilities Corporation and Mmadinare community assisted in the search.
Meanwhile, Superintendent Pulenyane raised concern over increasing cases of house break-ins and burglary in Selebi Phikwe.
He encouraged the community to always ensure their doors were secured before retiring to bed at night. Ends
