Tlokweng conference centre welcome development

Construction of a conference centre in Tlokweng will contribute to development of the village.
Member of Parliament for the area, Mr Thulagano Segokgo, said the centre was built under a Constituency Development Fund, adding that it would change the aesthetic of the village.
Upon completion, the conference facility would host activities such as weddings, parties and workshops.
As such, Mr Segokgo said the facility would contribute to development of the youth and entertainment industry.
The MP added that the facility was built in consultation with the community.
On other things, Mr Segokgo, who is also the Minister of Transport and Communications, toured schools in his constituency, which he said were prepared to start receiving more learners.
Mr Segokgo said schools were complying with COVID-19 protocols.
Schools have demonstrated that they would be able to implement social distancing, check temperatures, keep registers and have functional hand washing facilities, among other things, he said.
Mr Segokgo also commended the roping in of safety health a officers in schools, saying their input would come handy.
He, however, said schools were generally faced with problems of maintenance.
During the tour, the school authorities pointed out problems such as shortage of accommodation for staff, old buildings, small staffrooms and the need for water-borne toilets for learners.
Some said there was need to buy more books for their libraries and expand the existing libraries to cater for social distancing. ENDS
