Boitumelo Foundation has donated 250 blankets to Balete community.
The foundation further pledged to donate another 100 blankets to Camphill Community Trust’s Rankoromane School in Otse, which provides learning for children with disabilities.
Receiving the donation at Ramotswa Kgotla, Kgosi Mosadi Seboko thanked the foundation for their gesture during winter.
Kgosi Mosadi said the bulk of the donation would go to Bamalete Lutheran Hospital (BLH) followed by Ramotswa School for the Deaf.
She said BLH needed more blankets to keep patients warm during winter.
Furthermore, Kgosi Mosadi also noted that the donation to BLH would benefit all community members, as the hospital catered to all community members. She said the hospital could not afford to compromise the health of patients from flue sickness.
As for the school for the deaf, Kgosi Mosadi said the school had over 90 boarding pupils who also needed to keep warm.
She also said the pupils came from different parts of the country and that some were from needy families, hence the need to augment whatever the school had.
Kgosi Mosadi said about 10 blankest would be divided among the clinics of Otse, Mogobane and Taung to keep patients warm while on bed rest.
Boitumelo Foundation chairperson, Ms Matshediso Masire said the foundation helped communities with various needs and wants.
She added that the foundation was started by businessmen, Mr Ramachandran Ottapath and his family to extend a helping hand to the community.
Ms Masire said their donation was aimed at extending a helping hand to the community during the ongoing winter season. Ends
