A five-year-old child died on the spot on June 8 after she was hit by a car in Mathangwane.
Tatitown Police Station Commander, Superintendent Edward Leposo said the young girl was coming from collecting firewood in the company of her caretaker when the accident happened.
He said the girl allegedly left the caretaker on one side of the road and ran to cross the road and was hit by the car.
Furthermore, Superintendent Leposo said still on the same day, at Mafhungo/Hubona, a man died after the car he was travelling in hit a donkey.
He lost control and encroached into the oncoming vehicles’ lane and collided with a mini-bus, which was travelling from Francistown to Kasane.
The driver survived the accident without any injuries.
Meanwhile, Supt. Leposo said investigations into the two accidents were continuing, cautioning drivers to drive vigilantly and diligently as well as to observe road signs at all times and avoid speeding. Ends
