Ticano donates to less privileged

08 Jun 2020

Member of Parliament for Ramotswa, Mr Lefoko Moagi has commended local SME purchase order financier, Ticano Group for its concern for the less privileged.

The legislator, who is also Minister of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security, made the commendation on Sunday when receiving 50 blankets worth about P15 000 which the company donated to his constituency.

Mr Moagi said the donation would reach some of the most affected and less privileged members of the community during winter.

He highlighted that some non-governmental organisations in his constituency such as Re fa ka bone Caring Centre, Ramotswa School for the Deaf and others stood to benefit. He said Ticano Group’s gesture showed its concern for the wellbeing of the community as opposed to only being profit driven. Mr Moagi said government was aware of its business and some of the challenges it was facing as a locally owned SME purchase order financing company and promised government’s support.

The company’s executive director, Mr Opelo Motswagae said they provided purchase order financing, which was an effective short-term financing tool to small companies to pay for goods or materials needed to fulfil customers’ orders.

Furthermore, he said they provided expert trade finance knowledge, quick turnaround times, good interest rates to help SMEs grow, adding that the company was divided into finance advisory, investment advisory and projects advisory.

To ensure adherence to professionalism, he said the company was audited yearly in addition to being regulated by the Non-Banking Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority.

Mr Motswagae said they employed predominantly fresh graduates with no experience and trained them internally. Ends
