Touring schools in the constituency as schools reopened on Tuesday, he said most institutions seemed ready to kick-start teaching and learning as  conditions were generally good.

Mr Morwaeng, who is Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, said all schools were complying with COVID-19 regulations adding he was impressed to see learners wearing masks and observing social distancing.

Mr Morwaeng said in some schools where progress was lagging behind, officials were working tirelessly to complete all projects that were behind schedule.

The minister commended council, schools as well as the Department of Education and other stakeholders such as councillors for their collaboration.

Such partnerships were needed during these trying times, he said.

He encouraged officials to continue working together for the benefit of the country.

Department of Education Kweneng Region acting director, Mr Tshwarelo Hosia said progress in all Kweneng schools  was satisfactory although he acknowledged that some schools such as Motswakhumo Junior Secondary School, Bokaa Primary School in Molepolole as well as Lentsweletau Primary School among others, were behind in completing projects.

Where washbasin projects were not completed, management improvised to meet the health protocols, he said.

Mr Hosia also mentioned that council had procured soaps and sanitizers in large quantities.
