 The Headmaster of Francistown Senior Secondary School, Mr Safania Tabona says about 705 Form 5s resumed classes on Tuesday following closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr Tabona said the students started arriving at the school gate as early as 0600 hrs while classes started at 0730 hrs.

He said the screening process went well and faster as they were using 11 thermometres, adding that the names of the students were written according to their school houses for them to just record temperatures and time of arrival.

He said members of staff were advised to resume duty before 0730 hrs for them to start assisting those who arrived early.

The school head said toilets were all in good condition and working properly with soap dispensers mounted.

Mr Tabona noted that at the school’s main gate, there were 18 hand wash basins, adding that more developments will be conducted as soon as the need arises.

He said all classrooms have boards with coronavirus messages and that more signs will be mounted after the ongoing school renovations.

He said that the school will be operating on a shift basis, with the first group starting at 0730 hrs then break for tea, while the second group will start at 1100 hrs beginning with their lunch while the first group finishes their final lesson.

At the moment, he said, eight classes are under renovation and are expected to be completed very soon. Ends/bopa/tmk/02.06.2020
