Tshukudu Metals Botswana donates to DHMT

Tshukudu Metals Botswana has donated medical equipment and bedding collection worth approximately P200 000 to Ghanzi District Health Management Team (DHMT) on May 29.
The donation comprised of 20 infrared thermometers, sanitiser ingredients, 100 theater gowns, 100 disposable gowns, 100 blankets, 100 bed shades, 100 pillows and pillows cases.
Handing over the donation, Tshukudu Metals Botswana’s exploration manager, Mr Karabo Laletsang said they were committed to continue supporting Ghanzi DHMT and frontline workers, adding that frontline workers should be protected to protect the rest of us.
Mr Laletsang pledged that they would provide similar support for the next six months and were ready to inject P25 000 monthly.
He said during these trying times it was crucial that companies, should support their communities as part of corporate social investment.
Mr Laletsang appreciated the support they received from their ‘Australian mother company Sandfire resources’ and its leadership.
Deputy district commissioner for Ghanzi East Administrative Authority, Mr Patrick Tlotleng expressed gratitude towards the donation as would enable them to comply with COVID-19 protocols, as well as curbing the possible spread of the pandemic.
Mr Tlotleng added that government and non-government entities should all comply with COVID-19 regulations.
For her part, Ghanzi DHMT coordinator, Ms Keitumetse Maapatsane, who was also thankful towards the donation, said it would go long way in meeting their needs.
“Certainly, we have so many needs but the six months you have pledged to assist us we would be able to close the gaps,” Ms Maapatsane stated.
As COVID-19 affect cross section of the economy, she said it was encouraging to see people from different sectors lending a heldping hand. ENDS
