Palapye Administrative Authority (PAA) chairperson, Ms Khumo Lekoko has donated 200 packets of sanitary pads and toiletry worth P5 000 to Lotsane Senior Secondary School girls.

Ms Lekoko also pledged her salary for two months to support orphans and girls from less privileged families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

She promised to continue to protect, nurture and care for the girl child, adding that she was against gender based violence.

Ms Lekoko called on the school and the PTA to engage the community on issues regarding children’s education and welfare.

She said it was not only the responsibility of teachers to educate children, but that parents also had a role to play.

She commended the school for responding well to COVID-19 pandemic and preparations for re-opening of the school.

School head, Ms Dineo Gabete thanked PAA chairperson for the good gesture, saying it would assist girls from poor backgrounds. ENDS
