Markus Project Sanitize Maun donates masks

Former Maun East MP and businessman, Mr Konstantinos Markus, and a group of other business people have donated masks to all pupils resuming classes in the sub-district.
Mr Markus has donated over 2 600 masks to all Maun East schools.
They comprise of 16 primary schools, two junior schools and one senior secondary school.
The group of business people, who are calling themselves Project Sanitize Maun, donated about 2 200 masks to all Standard Seven pupils in the Maun Administration Authority.
Speaking during the donation this week, Mr Markus said the donation was from his family to help in the fight against COVID-19.
He said he engaged four women to make the masks as another way of assisting the community.
Project Sanitize Maun chairperson, Mr Tebogo Boalotswe said they grouped themselves in order to help the community in the fight against COVID-19.
He said the goal was to donate masks to all primary schools in their area.
Mr Boalotswe said the 2 200 masks were for Standard Seven pupils only, and that other pupils would also receive them.
He said poverty eradication beneficiaries and some youth made the masks.
North West District deputy commissioner, Ms Goitseone Nkwe-Tabane expressed gratitude towards the donation.
She noted that the donors had assisted learners and parents and also empowered tailors.
Ms Nkwe-Tabane also urged parents to ensure that the masks were well taken care of and washed daily by learners.
NWDC chairperson, Mr Lekonne Masoko said the donations would help parents since they were struggling to buy masks.
Mr Masoko also thanked the donors and said people should desist from politicising donations. ENDS
