Lockdown ends zones commence

Coordinators of the COVID-19 Task Force Team, Dr Kereng Masupu and Professor Mosepele Mosepele say the country's extended lockdown ends at midnight today, thus bringing into effect COVID-19 zones.
People within a zone will now move freely and permit will be required when moving between zones. However, Prof Mosepele said, should the situation worsen, 'lockdown remains an option'.
Prof Mosepele also announced, through a televised briefing tonight, that Botswana has registered four new COVID-19 cases, thus bringing to 29, a total number of cases the country has registered.
He said the new cases were imported from the SADC region. Therefore, testing has been escalated in Kasane, Mamuno, Francistown and Gaborone.
In fighting the pandemic, he said Botswana had gone through five stages of preparedness, intervention, levels of response, recovery and mitigation. ends
