NDB and Top Bread Bakery donate to MAA

20 May 2020

Maun Administrative Authority (MAA) continues to enjoy support from the business community in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Tuesday, MAA leadership received food hampers worth over P300 000 from National Development Bank (NDB) and 500 loaves of bread from Top Bread Bakery. It was reported that Top Bread had, last week, also donated food hampers to MAA.

Donations were handed over to the district officer, Ms Tryphina Mbotho, who commended the business community for demonstrating love and care towards the community.

She expressed gratitude to NDB and Top Bread Bakery for heeding government’s call to donate towards the COVID-19 pandemic relief programme.

She assured them that donations would be distributed to deserving residents. NDB customer service manager, Ms Sophie Botlhagile said the donation was a response to government’s call to aid the community.

The bank staff, she said, raised funds amounting to P360 000 and bought food hampers comprising bags of 12.5kg of maize meal, 10kg of rice, sugar, morogo wa dinawa, mabele, washing powder and meat, among others, to be distributed to community members.

She said she believed that food hampers would reduce effects of the pandemic on the community. Ends
