Shamukuni thanks World Group of Companies for consignment

The Member of Parliament for Chobe, Mr Machana Shamukuni has expressed gratitude towards the World Group of Companies (Botswana) for its support in the fight against COVID-19.

The company donated a consignment of 11 tonnes of food hampers towards the COVID-19 food relief to feed distressed households due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

Handing over the donation to the district authorities in Kasane on Tuesday, Mr Shamukuni thanked the company for heeding government's to assist those in need of food during the extreme social distancing period with food hampers made up of mealie meal, sorghum, milk and other essential foods. 

Mr Shamukuni, who is also the Assistant Minister of Tertiary Education, Research Science and Technology, appealed to the company to continue with the same assistance in the future. 

Chobe District Council Chairperson, Mr Amos Mabuku appreciated the company's gesture.

Mr Mabuku, who is also the Councilor for Satau and Parakarungu also commended other companies for their contribution in the fight against  COVID-19. ENDS
