DDT college reaches out

DDT College of Medicine has donated food parcels to 500 households and P50 000 to South East South Sub-district to augment government’s COVID-19 food relief initiative.

Receiving donations to be distributed in Ramotswa, Taung, Otse and Mogobane on May 15, Kgosi Mosadi Seboko of Balete said donations would augment government efforts of providing food to those affected by the pandemic.

Kgosi Mosadi said government had come up with the food relief package to help community from impact of the epidemic.

Even though she appreciated public officers carrying out the exercise, she said bogosi should also be taken on board to offer assistance to ensure that the exercise becomes a success.

She also commended DDT College of Medicine for donating to the community.

DDT College of Medicine chancellor, Dr Derrick Tlhoiwe said they felt compelled to take part in answering the national call made by President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi to help those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Tlhoiwe said there was need for every members of the community to help others with whatever they can help with, adding that the college had also donated to the national task force.

He said the monetary donation was to enable the sub-council procure local products.  

Further, Dr Tlhoiwe said there was need for the nation to thank God for protection against COVID-19.ENDS
