Member of Parliament for Serowe South, Mr Leepetswe Lesedi has, in collaboration with Brian Tlholego Foundation, donated winter clothes worth over P11 000 to newborn babies and elderly patients at Sekgoma Memorial Hospital in Serowe on May 15.

The clothes were handed over to Serowe District Health Management Team (DHMT) to distribute to eligible recipients.

Brian Tlholego Foundation, a youthful group from Motshegaletau, raised funds to buy the clothes.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, MP Lesedi indicated that he was worried by some expectant mothers who did not have time to buy clothes for their newborn babies as clothing shops were closed due to lockdown.

He appreciated Brian Tlholego Foundation for coming on board to help disadvantaged members of the community.

“We have been showing compassion to other needy communities across the district. There are many challenges and we cannot solve them all but we all need to work together to assist government to help those in need,’’ he said.

Receiving the clothes, DHMT head, Dr Nahanson Kombe thanked MP Lesedi for the donation.

“The clothes will keep the children warm and feel comfortable. Your act of compassion complements the nationwide appeal to help the less privileged,” he said.

Dr Kombe indicated that some parents did not have the ability to provide clothing for their children because they were poor. ENDS
