Bidvest Steiner has donated hand sanitisers and cleaning chemicals worth over P200 000 to Department of Road Transport and Safety (DRTS) towards the fight against COVID-19.

Heeding to government’s call for organisations to assist in the fight against COVID-19, Bidvest Steiner managing director, Ms Colleen Verster said the organisation saw it fit to donate hand sanitisers and cleaning chemicals to DRTS.

“I would like to thank government, particularly Ministry of Transport and Communications for incessantly supporting us as we transport and distribute our products throughout the country. We recognise and appreciate the hardwork and dedication you have shown to us,” she said.

Receiving the donation, Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Thulagano Segokgo applauded Bidvest Steiner for the generous donation.

“The donation has come at a timely period because the transport sector poses a high risk when it comes to the virus as we are mandated to facilitate mobility across the country and this currently goes against the COVID-19 health regulations.

As such your products will assist us with fighting the pandemic as we all know that part of fighting this virus is to practice good hygiene at all times,” he said. ENDS
