MAA bemoans double dipping

13 May 2020

Molepolole Administrative Authority (MAA) senior assistant council secretary, Mr Gofaone Kgabanyane says the increasing number of households claiming to have been left out during assessments is worrisome because it can result in some households benefiting twice from the COVID-19 food relief initiative.

Mr Kgabanyane said the complaints were a concern because they raised doubt and could end up increasing the number of beneficiaries.

He said some people had deliberately left their villages to stay at the fields so that they could benefit twice while some were complaining of having been rejected.

Mr Kgabanyane said such incidents were rife in sub-district despite the fact that there were few households, which were not assessed.

He said they had been compelled to make follow-ups through feedback forms to establish if there were some who were left out or who have benefitted twice.

He warned those trying to cheat that the long arm of the law would eventually catch up with them. ENDS
