Council secretary to address residents complaints
12 May 2020
Molepolole Administrative Authority (MAA) senior assistant council secretary, Mr Gofaone Kgabanyane has made a promise to address complaints raised by some Molepolole residents following what they said was unfair distribution of food hampers in the village. He said appropriate action would be taken.
Mr Kgabanyane said some residents were told that they did not qualify for food hampers, which might have prompted them to complain.
Meanwhile, Mr Kgabanyane has acknowledged that there might be some deserving households that could have been left out.
Kweneng District Council (KDC) chairperson, Mr Motlhophi Leo also concurred with residents that some deserving families were left out.
“Some complaints are genuine as some people appear to have been disqualified on the basis that they were staying with someone who was working,” he said.
Mr Leo also said chain stores should be considered for the emergency food supply to expedite the process. Ends
