Mogoditshane/Thamaga Sub-council is working round the clock to wrap up distribution of food relief packages in the sub-district by next week.

In an interview, senior assistant council secretary, Mr Daniel Katjinotjiwa, said the council had moved speedily to complete household assessment in eight villages.

Mr Katjinotjiwa said with assessments having been completed, almost 90 per cent of households in these areas had received food hampers.  

He also indicated that with more than 38 000 assessments done, over 28 000 households had been recommended for food relief packages while over 25 000 households had received food.  

He further said they intended to complete food distribution in the entire sub-district by next week if all went accordingly.

However, the sub-district council chairperson, Mr Ofentse Mafoko advised those who would like to donate food to the community to first liaise with the council for monitoring purposes. Ends
