Morupule Mine avails transport for food distribution

06 May 2020

Morupule Coal Mine has pledged to avail transport to help deliver food hampers in and around Serowe to the families affected by the extreme social distancing.

This was revealed by the mine’s chief public and corporate affairs officer, Ms Boineelo Seitshiro during the handing over of food hampers for 100 families to Serowe Administration Authority (SAA).

Ms Seitshiro said they would also provide volunteers from members of Morupule Coal Mine cycling club and football club to help SAA with the distribution of hampers.

She said the donations were guided by the mine’s corporate social investment programme aimed at uplifting and capacitating communities within their zone of influence.

The SAA council chairperson, Mr Lesedi Phuthego thanked Morupule Coal Mine for assisting with transport. He said lack of transport hindered them to distribute food on time.

He also thanked the mine for the food hampers, stating that government alone could not afford to buy food for all the families in need of assistance. ENDS
