A total of 6 319  households in Letlhakeng Sub-district have been received COVID-19 relief food packages.

Speaking in an interview, deputy district commissioner, Ms Ikgopoleng Lekoape, said this was 88.5 per cent of 8 681 households assessed in the sub-district.

She said their team had been working day and night to make sure that Batswana were assisted with food items and she was happy with the response of the residents to put on masks as stipulated.

The sub-district council chairperson, Councilor Meshack Tshenyego, said he was happy with the progress made so far and many households had been assisted, but was worried that some people did not tell the truth during assessments, which led to unqualified people being assisted.

He, therefore, cautioned those who did such acts to stop them or face wrath of the law. Ends
