Council warns food parcels fraudsters

Molepolole-Lentsweletau sub-district council is dealing with fraudulence by some beneficiaries since the distribution of COVID-19 Relief food basket to communities commenced.
Speaking in an interview, the sub-district’s Senior Assistant Council Secretary (SACS) Mr Gofaone Kgabanyane told BOPA that since the inception of the programme, they had observed that certain individuals particularly in Molepolole found ways of cheating.
Mr Kgabanyane said such individuals had devised fraudulent ways of benefitting twice after assessments had been carried out.
However Mr Kgabanyane issued a stern warning to those who still harboured intensions to continue with the fraudulent behaviour as the council would investigate the matter and perpetrators would be reported to the police.
