02 May 2020

Mr Mohamed Ismail has donated food packages to 200 families as COVID-19 relief in Lobatse.

He handed the food items to the Lobatse constituency office on May 1.

“I decided to assist the Lobatse community because I grew up here,” said Mr Ismail, who owns the Ismail Group of companies which include Lobatse Gas Works, Chicken Licken Botswana and some filling stations.

Accepting the donation on behalf of area MP, Dr Thapelo Matsheka, constituency office administrator, Mr Francis Mokwena said the donation was in support of government to protect people from hunger during the lockdown.

“We don’t want to have a single person dying of hunger during this coronavirus pandemic period. I therefore commend those who make donations because they contribute to the government's drive to assist people,” he said.

Mr Mokwena also urged the community to stay safe by obeying Ministry of Health and Wellness regulations against COVID-19 together with lockdown regulations. ENDS
