CDC ends food basket distribution today

Kazungula village is expected to be the last to receive food basket for people affected by effects COVID-19 as the distribution is to be completed in Chobe District today (April 270.
Chobe District Council chief community development officer, Mr Ogoditsemang Semele confirmed in an interview that they are already done with the distribution in the villages of Chobe West Enclave that include Parakarungu, Satau, Kachikau, Kavimba, and Mabele.
As for the Chobe East Enclave villages of Pandamatenga, Lesoma, Kasane, Plateau, Mr Semele said Kazungula was the one that his team would attend to and finish the distribution by today.
“We will be done with Kazungula by the end of today if things go according to plan,” confirmed Mr Semele.
Giving a picture of the situation, Mr Semele said initially they reached out to 2 581 families for assessment and 1 874 were recommended for food baskets, of which 713 had received their dues. He said after the completion of the distribution of the food basket, they would concentrate on cattle posts, the lands and farms to assess the situation.
However, he said the main challenge during the distribution was that beneficiaries lacked patience. Ends
