Malatswae pupils receive food hampers

23 Apr 2020

Malatswae Primary School pupils in Central District have been given food packages consisting of milk, tea, 5kg sugar, 5kg samp, cooking oil and sorghum meal.

School head together with the area councillor, social worker and other village authorities commenced ferrying hampers to the pupils’ homesteads on Monday.

The hampers would reach 305 learners and each pupil would receive a package whether or not they had other siblings or relatives attending the same school. The hampers would not be replacing the COVID-19 relief packages.

School headr, Ms Johanna Kgopo said the food items were from the school and would help pupils because they would miss out on the reliable school feeding programme, now that they were on lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ms Kgopo said most learners were from disadvantaged families and the ration would benefit other family members as well.

She appreciated government for allowing learners to be assisted in that manner. Ends
